Ice Guild Kaiser's second Rain album combines nature sounds, gentle synth loops, string instruments and processed sounds, the sum of which is a meditative soundscape.
Ice Guild Kaiser is a recording project of C.P. McDill, and is considered a side project of Saluki Regicide, also available on Webbed Hand.
This track has as a foundation a lightly processed field recording, and is layered with strummed or finger-picked string instruments, abstract synthesizer loops, and other sounds processed beyond recognition. It deviates from the Rain guidelines in that there is a progression of sorts, and the overall sound of the piece changes as it flows from one moment to the next. All of the parts were recorded outdoors, in a garden.
Rain is a series of conceptual tracks produced for Webbed Hand Records. Each "Rain" is a CD-length ambient recording ideal for quiet listening while meditating, writing, or going to sleep. Typically the recordings in this series are minimalistic soundscapes, with motifs played out cyclically rather than progressively, in order to induce relaxed states.
